    SPX Website – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SPX Abrasives ("SPX", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and discloses personal information when you use our website, create an account, contact us, or buy our products.

    1. The Plain-English Version

SPX uses a fairly standard mix of ecommerce, analytics, advertising, and website diagnostic tools. We are not trying to collect every possible detail about you. Even so, when you use the Website, your visit and actions may create logs, analytics events, or session replay data and may be connected with your browser, device, account, cart, or order. We use this information to run and improve the Website, fulfil orders, communicate with customers, fix problems, and understand and advertise our products.

    2. Information We Collect

    • Information you provide: such as your name, email, phone number, delivery and billing details, account or business details, ABN, orders, cart, enquiries, reviews, referral information, newsletter choices, and other information you choose to send us.
    • Website and device activity: such as your IP address, approximate city or country, browser, device type, user agent, referring page, pages visited, session timing, searches, filters, products viewed, clicks, scrolling, cart activity, checkout steps, purchases, and error information.
    • Cookies and similar identifiers: including login and security cookies, cart and preference storage, session identifiers, advertising click identifiers, and analytics or advertising cookies associated with your browser or device.

This does not mean that we intentionally record every keystroke or every detail about you. These tools are not intended to collect passwords, full payment card details, or sensitive personal information. Some diagnostic tools are configured to mask page text and media, and we take reasonable steps to limit the information collected to what is useful for the relevant purpose.

    3. Analytics, Session Replay and Advertising

The Website may use technologies and services including, but not limited to:

    • Microsoft Clarity uses heatmaps and session replay technology to help us understand how visitors use the Website and identify areas for improvement.
    • Google Analytics and Google Ads help measure visits, searches, product views, cart and checkout activity, purchases, and advertising performance. Google's enhanced-conversion features may also use customer contact and order information to match and measure a conversion.
    • Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API send events such as page views, product views, searches, cart additions, checkout activity, and purchases to Meta. These events may include browser and ad-click identifiers, IP address, user agent, product and order details, and hashed contact or account identifiers.
    • SPX session logs and GlitchTip/Sentry help us understand general traffic, diagnose errors, protect the Website, and investigate broken customer journeys. Error monitoring may include technical context and a masked replay of activity around an error.

Advertising and analytics providers help us measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. We may use advertising data to measure campaigns, build or refine advertising audiences, and show or help show more relevant SPX advertising on other websites and platforms. These providers may match information we send with information they already hold under their own terms and privacy policies. Hashing is a matching and security measure; it does not necessarily make information anonymous.

    4. How We Use and Share Information

We use and share information where reasonably needed to operate accounts and carts, process payments and orders, prevent fraud, provide support, send requested or permitted communications, arrange delivery, manage invoices and accounting, administer trade, wholesale, affiliate, and referral programs, improve the Website, diagnose errors, and measure or run advertising.

This can involve service providers such as Supabase and our hosting providers; Stripe; Starshipit, Australia Post, CouriersPlease, and other carriers; Loops and Resend; Xero; Microsoft, Google, Meta, and GlitchTip/Sentry; and relevant professional advisers, affiliate participants, or authorities where required. We share the information reasonably needed for each provider or participant to perform its role.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

If you use an affiliate, referral, or product promotion offer, limited attribution and order details may be shared with the relevant program participants and service providers, such as your name, referral or affiliate code, order value, and whether a qualifying purchase occurred. This helps us manage discounts, commissions, and attribution.

    5. Overseas Disclosure

Some personal information may be transferred to or stored in countries outside Australia, including where our service providers operate their infrastructure. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure information is handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

    6. Cookies, Marketing and Your Choices

By continuing to use the Website, you consent to our use of cookies and similar technologies as described in this policy, except where applicable law requires separate consent.

Contact details you submit at checkout or through newsletter and promotional forms may be used to contact you about your cart, order, or related SPX offers, including where you do not complete a purchase or create an account. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails. This does not affect essential messages such as order confirmations, account notices, invoices, and shipping updates.

You can control or block cookies through your browser and use the privacy or advertising controls offered by the relevant platforms. Blocking essential storage may affect login, cart, security, or preference features. Logged-in customers can also turn off Meta tracking from their profile settings. You may contact us to ask us not to use or disclose personal information we hold about you for direct marketing.

    7. Access, Correction and Deletion

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you. Some information may need to be retained to comply with legal, taxation, accounting, fraud prevention, or contractual obligations.

    8. Storage and Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information and keep it only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above. Retention periods differ between our systems and third-party providers. No online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

    9. Privacy Enquiries and Complaints

Privacy enquiries, access or deletion requests, correction requests, and privacy complaints can be sent to info@spxabrasives.com.au.
