How to Choose the Right Safety

Proper safety equipment is non-negotiable in any spray painting or sanding environment. Airborne dust particles and paint fumes pose serious health risks without adequate respiratory protection.

Essential safety gear for spray painters:

Respirators & masks: P2/P3 rated dust masks and half-face respirators with organic vapour filters
Eye protection: Safety glasses and goggles rated for workshop use
Protective clothing: Spray suits, gloves, and coveralls

Australian workplace health and safety regulations require appropriate PPE when working with abrasives and paint products. SPX supplies quality safety gear shipped Australia-wide.

Frequently Asked Questions — Safety

What respiratory protection do I need for spray painting?
For spray painting, you need at minimum a half-face respirator with combination A1P2 filters (organic vapour + particulate). For isocyanate-based 2K paints, a full-face or supplied-air respirator is recommended. For dry sanding, a P2-rated dust mask is the minimum requirement.
